Botanical Art Worldwide is an amazing international exhibition of Botanical Art taking place contemporarily in 23 countries around the world. The project, initiated by the American Society of Botanical Artists, has been developed by artistic and scientific organisations in each of these 23 nations to promote their local flora. A video of the artwork presented in all of the venues will be available for viewing at each country’s individual exhibition.
The Italian show , with the subtitle “ A Flourishing Heritage-Portraits of Italian Flora” , has been organised by Floraviva, the Italian Association of Botanical Artists, together with The Orto Botanico di Padova, the oldest botanical garden in the world, and a World Heritage Site.
I am very pleased to mention that 2 of my works were accepted for the italian show: Borago officinalis, a common spontaneous plant from the Boraginaceae family often found in fields and along the roadsides of Italy, and Solenanthus apenninus, a rare endemic plant of Italy from the same family.
